Description
The FCM 36 (or Char léger Modèle 1936 FCM) was a light infantry tank that was designed for the French Army prior to the outbreak of World War II. It had a crew of two, was equipped with a short 37mm main armament, and a 7.5 mm coaxial machine gun. Power was provided by a diesel engine. Between 1938 and 1939, 100 tanks were manufactured. They took part in fighting between the French and Germans during the early stages of World War II (May to June 1940) leading up to Germany’s capture of Paris.
