Description
Before the outbreak of World War II, Germany began to modernise its army from 1933 onwards. An important part of Wehrmacht motorisation was the manufacturing of three-axle, 3-tonne trucks. One of them was the Mercedes-Benz LG63 (LG3000). It was in production from 1935 to 1938. This truck had a 95hp 6-cylinder diesel engine and Knorr air-over hydraulic brakes. They produced 7,434 LG3000 trucks that were widely used by all parts of the German army up until the end of war, such as at the Soviet-German front, in Polish and French campaigns, and in the Balkans.
