1:16 Scale Soviet KV-2 RC Tank
Command attention with the imposing 1:16 scale Soviet KV-2 RC tank, a striking replica of one of the most distinctive heavy tanks of the Second World War. Powered by the latest generation TK7.0 multi-function control board (MFCB), this model provides precise proportional control over acceleration, steering, turret traverse and cannon elevation or depression for smooth, lifelike handling.
Tailor the tank’s performance with programmable radio settings that adjust recoil strength, turn sensitivity, acceleration response and selectable speed modes. The omnidirectional proportional control system ensures intuitive manoeuvrability whether navigating rugged terrain or staging IR combat scenarios.
Durability and performance are prioritised through independent suspension on all road wheels, a robust heavy-duty gearbox and reliable tracks that are easy to maintain and upgradeable to metal for even greater resilience.
Realism is enhanced by programmable track recoil in three settings, simulating the recoil of its famously oversized gun. A working smoke system emits glycerin-based exhaust, while four distinct sound sets recreate the full spectrum of mechanical soundsengine start-up, idle, acceleration, turret traverse, gun elevation, machine gun bursts, cannon fire and shutdown. Volume is adjustable across five levels to suit any setting.
Armed with a 6mm plastic BB launcher capable of reaching up to 10 metres, the KV-2 is designed for target practice, but always requires eye protection and safety awareness. It also features infrared battle readiness, compatible with Heng Long’s IR system, enabling up to 20 tanks to engage in simulated combat. Hits are signalled with flashing LEDs and sound effects, and after five hits the tank shuts down briefly before restarting.
Additional features include 320 degrees of turret rotation, 30 degrees of cannon elevation, switchable LED headlights and brake lights, and IR hit indication. This RTR (Ready to Run) model comes factory painted and includes detailed cosmetic parts to enhance scale realism.
With its commanding presence and legendary status, the KV-2 is a standout addition to any collectionperfect for hobbyists who favour unique and powerful vehicles from the early war period.
A Brief History of the KV-2
The KV-2 was a Soviet heavy assault tank introduced in 1940, developed to provide direct fire support against fortified positions. Built on the KV-1 chassis, it featured a massive turret housing a 152mm howitzer, giving it an unmistakable profile and formidable firepower. While heavily armoured, its tall silhouette, slow speed and mechanical issues limited its battlefield effectiveness. The KV-2 saw action primarily during the early stages of Operation Barbarossa, where its armour could initially withstand most German anti-tank weapons. Despite its drawbacks, the KV-2 became a symbol of Soviet brute force and remains a favourite among historians and collectors. This RC model brings its iconic design and battlefield presence to life in stunning detail.
