A brief history of the model:
The A-36A Apache was the ground-attack and dive-bomber variant of the early P-51 Mustang, developed for the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. While it retained the sleek lines and performance of the Mustang, the Apache was fitted with dive brakes and bomb racks, making it a formidable low-level strike aircraft in the Mediterranean and China-Burma-India theatres. Its combat success paved the way for the later dominance of the P-51 fighter series.
