Description
In the beginning of the 1930s, there was a desire for a high-speed bomber that could outpace contemporary fighter planes. One plane to come to fruition from this desire was the twin-engine bomber Do 17 designed and produced by German company Dornier Flugzeugwerke. From early 1940 a series of 105 Do 215B planes were produced with liquid-cooled DB 601A engines. The Do 215B-4 reconnaissance planes were fitted with two long-range photo cameras and served in France and the Soviet-German front. In 1942 four of these planes were supplied to the Hungarian Air Force.
