Description
The supersonic fighter-bomber MiG-27 was created in the USSR on the base of the MiG-23. It made the first flight in 1973 and remained in service with a number of countries until the late 2010s. To improve the efficiency on ground targets, the MiG-27 received the PrNK-23 sighting and navigation system, the Orbita-20-23K onboard digital computer and a laser rangefinder. The aircraft was equipped with an automatic six-barrel 30-mm GSh-6-30 cannon and 7 hardpoints, on which up to 4,000 kg of various missiles and bombs could be installed. The variable-sweep wing allows the MiG-27 to operate effectively at both low and high speeds.
