Description
The MiG-31B aircraft was accepted into service in 1990. It was a modification of the supersonic high-altitude interceptor MiG-31, equipped with an air-to-air refuelling system. It allowed to increase the flight range and patrolling time. During further modernisation, this system was also installed on previously produced aircraft. In 2013, MiG-31 fighters set a record for the duration of a non-stop flight. In 7 hours and 4 minutes, the aircraft covered more than 8,000 km with three air refuellings.
