Description

The Mercedes-Benz 320 (W142), a passenger car developed by Daimler-Benz AG, began production in 1937. The car was equipped with a six-cylinder engine with a displacement of 3.2 or 3.4 litres and a power output of 78 horsepower. It featured independent suspension and hydraulic brakes on both the front and rear. This elegant and respectable model was produced with either a short or long wheelbase, and it came in various body styles.

The Cabriolet body variant was available in the long wheelbase version. The four-seater variant of this version had two doors and four side windows and was designated as the Mercedes-Benz 320 Cabriolet B. The car’s roof was soft and could be folded to provide protection from the elements. Among the six-cylinder versions, the Mercedes-Benz 320 (W142) was the most prestigious, with a chassis cost of 6,500 Reichsmarks, and the finished cars priced between 8,950 and 14,300 Reichsmarks.
